Sr FinOps Specialist, Payroll, US-Payroll AnytimePay
Amazon's Global Payroll team is seeking a Senior Specialist – Payroll Ops to support evolving Payroll tools and systems.
The Sr FinOps Specialist will mitigate daily operational challenges by ensuring controls and checks are in place and followed. The candidate should have a sound understanding of US payroll concepts, internal processes, and systems (upstream/downstream) to ensure 100% compliance and controllership. Collaboration with analysts and accountability for managing operational activities are essential. The role demands high-quality work delivery, continuous self-critique, and a strategic approach to risks.
This individual will lead automation initiatives by partnering with stakeholders such as Payroll tech, Operational Excellence, Business Analytics, Payroll Processing, Employee receivables, Customer Experience teams (MyTime, PeopleSoft, Payroll Tech), and external vendors like ADP.
The Sr. FinOps Specialist will work effectively with cross-functional teams, providing data analysis and narratives to support business decisions, challenging the status quo, and taking calculated risks for business development and enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide project support to end-users on tools and systems.
2. Act as a bridge between customers, team, and product partners.
3. Support quality audits of internal documentation.
4. Facilitate focus groups to foster feedback, transparency, and process improvement.
5. Identify issues and resolve them in partnership with business leaders under pressure.
6. Perform well in dynamic environments, being flexible, proactive, and self-motivated.
7. Manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
8. Guide team members and managers on training processes and systems.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience with 6+ years in improving, automating, and standardizing finance/business tools and processes.
* Minimum 10 years of payroll management experience.
* Hands-on payroll processing experience.
* 6+ years of automation and analysis experience in process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
* FPC or CPP certification.
