Software Product Support Engineer (SC Cleared)
6 Months initial contract
Minimum of 4 days per week on site in Bristol
68 per hour (Inside IR35)
Please note - Due to the nature of the client and the project, the selected candidate must have ACTIVE SC Clearance and be a Sole British National
Responsibilities
* Support in-service missile-system middleware solutions and work as part of a small team to investigate and fix issues as they arise.
* Debugging and engineering investigation as a core part of the role; discuss solutions with customers.
* Contribute to Linux OS configuration, support and security solution maintenance; experience with Linux is necessary.
* Work across multiple applications on both land and maritime projects in the systems software department, involving advanced missile systems across multiple warfare domains.
Skillset / Experience
* Experience with C or C++ (essential), Ada, and/or JavaScript, shell scripting with a solid software engineering background.
* Experience configuring and maintaining Linux OSs (Redhat and/or Ubuntu) including Kernel configuration and Kernel testing.
* A passion for software engineering with the ability to innovate and think critically to understand and solve complex software problems.
* Clear communication of technical matters to non-technical stakeholders; able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment to resolve issues.
