Job Description Senior Accountant Location: Stockport. Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 DOE Are you an experienced Accountant looking to join a friendly, forward-thinking practice where your skills are truly valued? Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to become a key part of their growing and dynamic team. The Role As an Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to a diverse client base. You’ll be hands-on with accounts preparation, tax compliance, and client management, while also supporting junior team members. Key Responsibilities Preparing accurate and timely accounts and financial statements Managing income tax and corporation tax compliance Working across multiple accounting platforms including Iris, Sage, Xero, and FreeAgent Liaising with HMRC on tax and compliance matters Building strong relationships with clients and confidently handling queries Gathering and reviewing client information efficiently and accurately Mentoring and supporting junior staff with accounting-related queries What We’re Looking For 3–5 years’ experience in accounts preparation (practice-based, non-audit) ACCA or AAT qualification desirable but not essential Confidence using (or willingness to learn) a range of accounting software Strong Excel and general office skills Excellent time management with the ability to meet deadlines independently A team player who is equally comfortable working autonomously Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach What’s On Offer Competitive salary of £30,000 – £45,000, depending on experience and qualification.
