Position Overview
Our innovative Psychologically Informed Consultation and Training Team (PICT) is dedicated to delivering high‑quality care for individuals with personality disorders. This stimulating role is part of a compassionate team of psychologists, psychotherapists and lived experience practitioners, providing specialist training and consultation to staff across Berkshire Healthcare, local Primary Care Networks and key partner agencies.
Core Responsibilities
* Offer expert clinical supervision, consultation, and advice to individuals and teams caring for people with personality disorder.
* Deliver training and teaching to increase skills and confidence across the workforce, including NHS staff, primary care, emergency services and the voluntary sector.
* Provide expert clinical assessments, psychological formulation and evidence‑based interventions within the specialism.
* Ensure systematic provision of high‑quality psychological services for individuals and their families or carers.
* Govern the systematic governance of psychological practice, working autonomously within professional and local guidelines and policies.
* Utilise research and audit skills to inform service and policy development.
Key Qualifications
* Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Principal Psychotherapist.
* Post‑qualification training and clinical expertise in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mentalization‑Based Treatment (MBT) and/or Structured Clinical Management (SCM).
* Substantial record of working within multi‑disciplinary settings with people with complex needs and high‑risk presentations associated with personality disorder.
* Experience developing and delivering training, supervision and consultation to others, effectively sharing skills and understanding.
* Commitment to transforming how staff supports people with personality disorder and enthusiasm for the challenges involved.
