Position Overview
We are seeking aspiring clinical psychologists and educational professionals to join a specialist SEMH school in Flitwick. This role offers valuable experience working with autistic children and those with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
Start Date
Role to start in September, depending on your circumstances. Use this experience to explore and refine your interests in the SEN and Mental Health sectors.
Responsibilities
* Work with a range of autistic children, some with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
* Support students with verbal and nonverbal communication needs.
* Observe and collaborate with therapists, SEN staff, ABA tutors, and mental health specialists.
* Contribute to a holistic and positive learning environment, focusing on giving children a sense of purpose.
School Details
* Specialist SEMH school for secondary-aged pupils.
* Tailored curriculum for each student, with learning levels from EYFS to KS4.
* Focus on autism, social, emotional, and mental health needs, including ADHD, Asperger’s, OCD, Dyslexia.
* Class sizes of 6-15 students, with 28 students in total.
Compensation and Schedule
£500-£550 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Qualifications and Skills
* Sincerity and motivation to work with children with special needs.
* Understanding of de-escalation, restorative, and positive reinforcement practices.
* Experience working with students with Autism, Asperger’s, OCD, and other learning difficulties is advantageous.
