German & Japanese Speaking Video Games Translator
Location: London or Remote
Salary: £39,000 – £59,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:30 – 17:30 (1-hour lunch break)

Role Overview
We are seeking a German & Japanese Speaking Translator to contribute to the localisation of a wide range of content, including video games, websites, mobile apps, and product packaging, ensuring accuracy, cultural relevance, and linguistic quality for German-speaking markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Translate and proofread video game content and related media from Japanese into German
2. Collaborate with editors, project coordinators, and localisation managers to ensure consistent high-quality translations
3. Work on a variety of media formats and platforms, maintaining brand tone and style
4. Manage glossaries and translation memories
5. Ensure deadlines are met across multiple simultaneous projects
Candidate Requirements
6. Native-level German with fluency in Japanese and strong English communication skills
7. Previous translation experience (video game industry experience preferred)
8. Strongattention to detail and cultural nuance
9. Experience withCAT tools, especially MemoQ, and ability to learn new software
10. Proficient inMicrosoft Word and Excel
11. Creative, collaborative, and able to work under pressure in a team environment
12. Experience with managing existing glossaries and localisation workflows
