Job Opportunity: Theatre Porter at St Mary's Theatres
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as a theatre porter.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transfer patients safely to and from wards and theatre departments via walking, wheelchair, stretcher, or beds.
2. Use of task management system (HIVE) for effective activity management within the portering service.
3. Convey blood specimens safely from wards/departments to the Pathology department.
4. Remove deceased bodies from wards/departments to the mortuary in a dignified manner and assist in viewing in the absence of the mortuary technician.
5. Replace medical gases on wards/departments as required during contracted hours.
6. Assist in transferring seriously ill patients from theatre to critical care.
7. Use the designated blood tracking system for better traceability, benefiting patients and departments.
8. Assist in moving medical supplies.
9. Transport patients safely from wards to theatres and vice versa after hours (08:00-21:00), upon request.
