Overview
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Brookthorpe Hall School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, guiding your practice within an education setting and clarifying your roles and responsibilities, while taking into account the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will be given responsibility for holding a Speech and Language therapy caseload, with the full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and will contribute to staff training and consultation as required.

Location: Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucestershire. Brookthorpe Hall School forms part of our Options Autism brand and is an independent specialist day school, supporting children and young people aged 7-16. Responsibilities
* Hold a Speech and Language therapy caseload with appropriate supervision and guidance from the clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Deliver bespoke SLT assessment and intervention within an education setting, aligned to OFG Ways of Working.
* Collaborate with the education team and multidisciplinary colleagues to support pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence and SEMH needs.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Engage in safeguarding practices and promote pupil participation in decisions affecting them.
Qualifications and Experience
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy; HCPC registered.
* 1-2 years’ experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT, working in a similar setting.
* Experience engaging with individuals with complex and diverse communication profiles; knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice.
* Experience of multidisciplinary working and communicating with families/carers; ability to develop skills across areas of SaLT practice.
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types, and formulation of support plans based on needs.
* Understanding of relevant legislation for clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team; willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications.
* Desirable: understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication; knowledge of arousal levels and communication; full driving licence and access to a car.
Benefits and Additional Information
Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience). Basic grade SALT from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, Highly Specialist from £48,000+.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hours overlapping core school hours; part-time hours may be considered. Benefits include a £2,000 training allowance after probation, life assurance, pension scheme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits. You will work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay.
