Tax Manager – Corporate Tax Team
Location: Cheltenham (with occasional travel to Twyning, Pershore, and Ledbury)

We are currently looking for a Tax Manager to bolster our growing tax team. The individual will join our team providing tax services for corporate clients (and must have experience in this area). There are opportunities for further progression for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's tax function, ensuring compliance, delivering strategic tax planning, and driving business development initiatives. You will work closely with our clients, providing expert advice on complex tax matters.
The role
1. Tax Advisory & Compliance
2. Provide high-level tax advisory services, including corporate, personal, and business tax planning.
3. Advise clients on tax-efficient structures, mergers and acquisitions, share option schemes, growth shares, EIS/SEIS, remuneration planning, inheritance tax planning, family investment companies and international tax matters.
4. Oversee the preparation and review of corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
5. Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensure the firm and its clients are informed of relevant developments.
6. Leadership & Team Development
7. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
8. Manage workflow within the tax department, ensuring efficiency and high standards of service.
9. Provide technical training and updates to the wider firm on tax-related matters.
10. Business Development & Client Management
11. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing proactive and strategic tax advice.
12. Identify opportunities for additional services and cross-selling within the firm.
13. Support the firm's growth strategy by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
14. Represent the firm at networking events.
The role is based in our Cheltenham Office, but with occasional travel to our offices in Pershore, Ledbury and Twyning.
The role is full-time. However, we would consider applicants wishing to work 5 days per week but shorter hours (such as 9am to 3pm).
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)

The individual
The individual must have appropriate qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA etc and experience of working in tax in an accountancy practice. The individual must have experience of UK taxation, specifically to corporates.
Essential qualities:
* Must have a high level of tax technical knowledge and experience.
* Must be able to work independently, be proactive, able to work under their own steam and show a high level of initiative.
* Must be an effective communicator, both in written and verbal form, so can explain complex tax scenarios to clients.
This position will require some travelling between offices and to clients so a driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required.
