Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!
We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: A brand new, purpose built Extra Care Scheme consisting of 50 Self-Contained apartments - 40 of which are one-bedroomed, 5 are two-bedroomed, and 5 are adapted single person occupancy. Based in Ash Brow, HD2. The service has its own Café and garden spaces for the people we support to engage socially together and get some quiet outside their homes. The service has a large driveway to reach the main entrance with parking on site for staff, residents and visitors. Staff are on site 24 hours to provide support where needed and in emergency situations.
What is important to us
* We will want people who support us to be as independent as possible within our homes and promote social inclusion.
* We will want people who can get to know us and have similar interests to get us more involved within our local and wider community.
We are keen to hear from local people who have an interest in supporting this local community initiative in delivering positive outcomes to the tenants. This will involve all aspects of Care/Support to include:
* Personal Care
* Moving and Positioning
* Assistance with Medication/Meals etc.
* Dementia Care
* Emergency First Aid
Please note shift patterns as follows: Morning - 6.30am to 2.00pm
Afternoon - 2.00pm to 11.00pm
Nights - 11.00pm to 6.30am
Your values: What essential skills and experience is needed for the role?
We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to us, so we look for people with:
* Patience
* Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others
* A strong work ethic
* Reliability
* Honesty
* Determination
* A problem solver
* Resilience
