Job Specification Night Foreman – 24hr Operation Cover

Shift Pattern: 20:00 – 06:00 (Night Shifts)
Duration: 5 weeks
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Night Foreman to oversee and manage site operations during night shifts for a critical infrastructure project in Langport. The role requires a well-rounded leader with a strong understanding of site safety, logistics, and reporting, who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, high-standard environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage nightly site operations and labour teams
Ensure compliance with health & safety and project-specific procedures
Oversee plant and lifting activities in coordination with the Lift Supervisor responsibilities
Maintain accurate site documentation and reports using digital platforms
Liaise with day teams to ensure seamless handovers
Support temporary works as required and liaise with relevant engineers or designers
Conduct or assist with scaffold inspections (where applicable)
Coordinate with utility and street works if applicable (NRSWA-related)Essential Requirements:
Foreman experience in civil or infrastructure settings
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
First Aid at Work – 3 Day Certification
CSCS Gold Card (Minimum NVQ Level 4)
Temporary Works Supervisor certification
Lift Supervisor certification
Strong IT literacy – confident using Outlook, Excel, Word, and digital reporting systems (tablet-based)Preferred (Desirable but not essential):
Basic Scaffold Inspection qualification
NRSWA Supervisor certificationAdditional Information: This role involves night shifts as part of a 24-hour site operation. You will be a key point of control during out-of-hours working and must be comfortable managing teams and site safety under minimal supervision
