Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (ASC Support)

Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Fleetwood to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
You’ll be joining a nurturing and inclusive school environment, providing tailored support to children with ASC across the Early Years and Key Stage 1. Your role will involve:
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Implementing strategies to promote communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities
* Encouraging independence and confidence in the classroom
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working with children with ASC or other SEN needs (school-based or transferable)
* A calm, patient and empathetic approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
Desirable qualifications include:
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Autism Awareness or SEND training
* Team Teach or other behaviour management training
