Field Service Engineer
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
We're looking for a hands‑on Field Service Engineer to join our fantastic client’s team in Bury St Edmunds, supporting the installation, servicing, and repair of machinery.
This is a field‑based role working directly with customers to deliver technical support, training, and maintenance. The position includes regular UK travel and occasional overseas trips (some up to two weeks).
Key Responsibilities
* Install, service, and maintain machinery at customer sites.
* Provide operator training and ongoing technical support.
* Troubleshoot issues both on‑site and remotely.
* Accurately complete service reports and documentation.
* Participate in a call‑out rota for emergency support.
* Coordinate with customers and internal teams to plan service visits.
* Be available for weekend callouts and emergency phone support on a rota (1 in 5 weeks).
Skills & Experience Required
* Qualified (or with equivalent hands‑on experience) in mechanical and electrical engineering.
* Proven experience in installation, commissioning, and field service work.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
* Willing and able to travel across the UK and occasionally overseas (including trips of up to two weeks).
* Strong problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
* Willingness to continue developing technical knowledge and skills.
