Partner and Head of Injury at GLP Solicitors Bury GLP Solicitors is a long-established and highly respected law firm with over 50 years of excellence across Private Client, Family, and Property Law. As part of our continued growth and strategic succession planning, we are seeking a Senior Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive (5+ PQE) to take on a prominent role within our Private Client team.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced practitioner who is seeking a long-term opportunity with a firm that offers genuine career progression. For the right candidate, there is a clear pathway to future leadership, including potential appointment as Head of Department as part of planned succession.
The Role:
You will manage a varied and high-quality caseload across all aspects of private client work, including:
Wills and estate planning
Probate and estate administration
Inheritance tax and lifetime planning
Trust creation and administration
Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection
You’ll work closely with a team of solicitors, trainees, and support staff, contributing to the continued development of our department and wider firm offering.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage your own private client caseload with autonomy and technical precision
Provide tailored advice to clients on complex estate and succession matters
Supervise and mentor junior team members and trainees
Contribute to departmental process improvements and quality standards
Build and maintain strong client relationships with empathy and discretion
Keep abreast of legal developments and assist in staff training where appropriate
Support business development initiatives and client growth strategies
About You:
A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 5 years’ PQE in private client law
A strong technical grounding in wills, probate, trusts, and tax planning
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Experience supervising junior colleagues or contributing to team development
A commercial approach and commitment to delivering exceptional client care
STEP membership (or willingness to obtain it) would be advantageous
