Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business delivering award-winning water and wastewater projects. Working with the Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water framework, you will contribute across all phases of projects, from feasibility through to construction.
Role Overview
As a Civil Engineer you will play a pivotal role in shaping civil functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all civil aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.
Responsibilities
* Preparing and reviewing designs for schemes and ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
* Producing and reviewing technical specifications and schedules for procurement activities, reviewing supplier tender bids and technical submissions.
* Understanding, applying and contributing to design standards with good knowledge of Client and industry standards.
* Appropriately challenging Client specifications and presenting and defending solutions to complex problems.
* Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes including the development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.
* Acting as technical checker on project documents and undertaking technical reviews for projects across teams.
* Managing the interfaces and integration of the design with that of other disciplines and production of documentation.
* Actively seeking input from other engineers, specialists, client and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit for purpose solutions.
* Working closely and collaboratively with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond.
* Supervising and mentoring graduates and engineers assisting them to develop their knowledge and skills.
* Positively engaging with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one‑team approach to supporting them in achieving their aims.
* Undertaking site reviews to ensure buildability of solutions and integration within the existing systems.
What You’ll Need
* Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
* Working towards being Chartered/Incorporated member of a professional institution such as ICE, IMechE, or equivalent experience.
* Experience with water, wastewater, non‑infrastructure or infrastructure projects.
* Experience of successfully delivering high‑quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
* Methodical approach to problem solving.
* A proactive and pragmatic approach.
* Proficient in delivering results within short timeframes, prioritising tasks and managing time efficiently.
* A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
