About the role
As Project Manager you will lead projects to deliver the agreed requirements, within timescale, cost and quality constraints. You will manage large projects and engage with senior level stakeholders to ensure successful completion.
Planning and Estimating
Lead the planning for projects - including project plans, resource plans and financial forecasts Undertake resource planning for projects Oversee the production of estimates for projects and validate estimates provided by other portfolios, horizontals and third parties Ensure that estimates for projects cover all identified work and represent value for money for IT Delivery
Lead the delivery of projects within timescale, cost and quality constraints Manage and record in the PPM tool, the progress against the plan, the actual and forecast costs, resource forecasts and budget following our goals Ensure that projects meet the agreed business customer requirements Ensure projects follow the change control process for any changes to timescales, cost, requirements or design and that these are recorded Process and quality
Apply the IT project delivery methodology and processes, identifying issues and opportunities to promote continuous improvement of the delivery processes Understand and be able to apply both the IT Agile and Waterfall delivery framework and agree with stakeholders the most appropriate for the project Ensure projects comply with the IT governance framework Finance, analysis and reporting
Produce and maintain financial forecasts for projects by tracking project budgets, actuals, and invoices and accounting for the cause of any variances against forecasts Ensure that costs are only incurred against approved funds and that Internal Order authorised values are not exceeded at any point Ensure Purchase Orders and Internal Orders are closed promptly following the receipt of the final invoices / costs Produce an up-to-date and transparent project report to the agreed timescales and following PMO standards and guidelines. Ensure the status of the project is always understood and available to the Portfolio Manager, Senior Delivery Manager and PMO. Business engagement and stakeholder management
Build relationships with and gain the trust of the Senior Delivery Manager and team and senior business stakeholders working with the Technical Product Managers to ensure you understanding our priorities and benefits of the projects being delivered Develop and implement project communications plans to engage key stakeholders within and outside of IT to lead their sustained and active commitment to success Lead, manage and develop people (including virtual teams)
Lead virtual teams, drawing on resources from across IT, partners and third parties Ensure the project team has the appropriate resources, roles and skills to deliver without duplication Lead and motivate the project team, providing coaching and guidance What you'll need to have
Experience managing the complete delivery of IT projects Experience of a relevant IT project delivery methodology and processes Experience leading a team Excellent stakeholder management skills It would be great if you also have

Experience managing projects with a team comprised of onshore and offshore resources Project management qualification, e.g. APMP, Prince2, MSP Experience delivering information security projects and programmes with a basic understanding of information security concepts Our benefits
