Clinical Fellow – Palliative and Complex Care
Position based at Tippethill Hospital, West Lothian. This 12 month clinical fellowship is full time (40 hours per week) and focuses on Palliative Care and Medicine of the Elderly.
Responsibilities
* Develop a strong foundation in Palliative Care and Medicine of the Elderly, assessing and managing frailty, multimorbidity, complex chronic disease and end–of–life care.
* Work closely with a multidisciplinary team under consultant supervision in inpatient ward and community settings.
* Attend one weekly session of development time to undertake an area of interest such as quality improvement, service development, teaching or subspecialty training.
* Depending on interest, work in the West Lothian Hospital at Home team providing acute assessments and treatment in patients’ homes as an alternative to acute hospital admission.
Qualifications
* Completed Foundation training as a minimum.
* Ability to drive a car to community home visits around West Lothian.
* Good communication skills and ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Desirable postgraduate experience and qualifications such as MRCP(UK) or subspecialty training in Palliative Medicine or Geriatric Medicine.
