The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking an ERP Functional IT Support Lead to lead on system change and development work as well as acting as an escalation point for system defects and service requests with the 3rd party support contract. This role has a focus on developing and improving the Unit4 application and the post holder will lead on system change and development work as well as acting as an escalation point for system defects and service requests with the 3rd party support contract.
Key Responsibilities
* System Development: Lead improvements to Unit4 and FP&A systems, prioritising requests and promoting best-practice use.
* System Roadmap: Oversee upgrades, design, patching, and UAT. Gather user requirements and produce clear specifications.
* Project Leadership: Define project scope, apply structured methodologies, and deliver developments that drive efficiency and automation. Coordinate delivery and training.
* Implementation & Testing: Lead testing, documentation, and deployment of Unit4 changes, ensuring updates are fit for purpose and fully supported.
* System Maintenance: Support upgrades, patching, year-end processes, and UAT to maintain stable and reliable systems.
* Technical & Functional Support: Manage reports, interfaces, hierarchies, roles, and security settings to ensure operational integrity.
What the client is looking for:
* Strong and proven experience working with a Unit4 system or other ERP system or similar role
* Knowledge of Unit4 HR/Payroll/Finance modules or equivalent ERP system modules
* Proven experience of analysing and documenting complex business processes
* Unit4 ERP certification or equivalent qualification or experience in an ERP system
* Detailed understanding of finance/HRP processes and procedures
* Previous supervisory experience of small/medium teams is desirable
* Experience working with 3rd party suppliers on delivery and change management
* Experience of working within an ITIL framework is desirable
