The Safeguarding Team for Lancashire and South Cumbria provide safeguarding advice and consultation to teams working within the Trust to embed safeguarding practice and create a culture of vigilance. With ever‑growing services and the introduction of new services, the team works to provide experienced safeguarding practitioners to offer specialist advice where needed and also collaborates with external partner agencies to provide assurance.
Applications are invited from experienced qualified nurses or social workers with leadership qualities and a background in safeguarding practices and legislation.
Role Overview
The post supports the Safeguarding team, clinicians and managers in developing and embedding safeguarding practices that reflect contemporary practice and complement the aspirations of national guidance and local health improvement programmes, whilst meeting the Trust’s Safeguarding Governance agenda.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support practice‑development initiatives prioritized within the safeguarding plan to facilitate the delivery of evidence‑based high‑quality safeguarding practices.
* Develop systems of benchmarking, audit and evaluation to measure and monitor standards of practice as part of the Safeguarding governance team.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to address challenges that arise in safeguarding practice.
