Within our MEP division, the engineering team plays a crucial role in the day‑to‑day delivery of planned works across a diverse range of properties and systems within large Mechanical, Plumbing & electrical contracts.
Position
We’re looking for an experienced MEP PreConstruction Manager to lead our preconstruction strategy and drive Gateway 2 and 3 submissions under the Building Safety Act. You’ll guide design consultants, shape compliant and buildable MEP solutions, and ensure designs align seamlessly with procurement for a smooth project start.
Responsibilities
* Manage Gateway 2 and 3 technical submissions and maintain the "Golden Thread."
* Challenge and review MEP designs for compliance, buildability, and realistic operational assumptions.
* Coordinate consultants, specialist subcontractors, and internal teams to close design gaps early.
* Link design milestones to procurement, support tendering, and lead value engineering workshops.
Requirements
* Experience: Proven background as a PreConstruction MEP Manager.
* Regulations: Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, particularly Gateway 2 (Building Control Approval) and Gateway 3 (Completion Certificate).
* Technical Skill: Solid foundation in building services engineering with deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems.
* Management: Confident in leading external design consultants and constructively challenging technical solutions.
* Commercial Awareness: Ability to connect design decisions with procurement strategy, cost planning, and value engineering.
