Teaching Assistant –Chorley

Working Hours: Full-time, term time only
Are you passionate about supporting young people in their education and development? A specialist educational setting in Chorley is looking for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis, starting immediately.
This role is ideal for someone who can offer positive male role modelling and enjoys working in a structured, supportive environment. You will be working with pupils who may display challenging behaviours and require tailored support to reach their full potential.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Supporting pupils in and out of the classroom to engage with their learning.
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to deliver individualised support plans.
Contributing to a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment.
Helping students to develop life skills and independence.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
A calm, patient, and proactive approach to support.
A genuine commitment to making a difference in young people’s lives.
Someone who can provide strong and positive role modelling, especially for boys and young men.
Team player with excellent communication skills.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable But Not Essential:
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, Psychology).
Experience in a PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision setting.
