: The opportunity: The Antenna Architecture Technical Specialist within the AESA Core Delivery Team (CDT) has overall responsibility for coordination and delivery of technical solutions across Antenna Developments, ensuring commonality in Product design strategies between programmes. Reporting directly to the AESA CDT chief engineer and AESA CDT management, you will be the primary technical point of contact responsible for ensuring design solutions at AESA LRI level are consistent with the product requirements across a number of programmes. The role involves working primarily with internal customers and a core team of engineers from various disciplines to deliver the solutions. A fundamental element is to ensure that all designs are developed in a consistent and structured manner, with the aim to improve efficiency and increase commonality across our systems by coordinating effort and providing guidance across the team. As Technical Specialist, you will manage, plan and deliver the overall Antenna technical solution across a wide range of SRIs currently being developed, to ensure Key Performance Parameters are delivered against the customer requirements. What you'll do as a Antenna Architecture Specialist Own and drive delivery across the following technical areas of Antenna LRI and SRI solutions from initial concepts, through development and into volume production delivery : Manage LRI Work Package budget and schedule delivery on ECRS Mk2 Co-ordinate the engineering effort across the Architecture & Control team, to generate and maintain the hierarchy of Antenna LRI level documents and models used to capture requirements, key implementation decisions and verification / validation evidence, including EM performance models, RF Chain models, Power Chain models, Control & Timing behavioural models, Mechanical ICDs, Hardware Physical ICDs, Functional (Protocol) ICDs, BIT Control, Validation and Verification Plans. Deliver Product Based design solutions within AESA projects based on clear and unambiguous procedural steps across hardware and firmware technologies Create and maintain Antenna Control & Timing Behavioural Model(s), initially for ECRS Mk2, but with a view to extend this to future programmes by adopting a 'Product Design' approach to minimise both non-recurring and recurring engineering costs. Develop Firmware requirements for ECRS Mk2, adopting a Product Design ethos to ensure the requirements are then transferable across subsequent AESA developments. Support the AESA CDT Chief Engineer in tracking and reporting on all Antenna LRI Key Performance Parameters Interface with Future AESA development programmes to understand the global set of requirements required Coordinate and collate test & compliance evidence into higher level documentation set. Support all relevant design review stages (PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR, etc…) Interact with Systems engineering and RADAR level systems team to ensure requirements and issues are coordinated across Antenna activities Develop team capability in key areas, coach and mentor key engineering staff, defining explicit requirements where required. (Promote design commonality and re-use within the team, and promote best practice use of the team's engineering resources across the business. Grow team experience and skills to meet demand, grow modelling capability, coordinate systems and documentation capture) Influence current and future Product Design to align with emerging requirements Coordinate engineering effort where required. Work closely with the other CDT leads to ensure compatible systems and identify any opportunities for commonality. Identify opportunities for technology reuse across the AESA CDT products. Ensure consideration is given to manufacturability, testability & maintainability for all designs. Ensure a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge use within AESA CDT and across business sectors. Security Clearance You must be eligible for full security clearance.
