Pricing and Underwriting is a complex domain where historical data, geospatial information, and mathematical models intersect with business goals. Our Pricing Practitioners, Data Scientists and Underwriters work together to balance risk, profitability and customer outcomes.
This role sits in the Motor Manufacturing Tribe, within the Motor Risk Modelling Team, collaborating with colleagues across Motor Risk, Retail Pricing, Underwriting, Trading and Finance to analyse data and shape pricing decisions.
What You’ll Do
* Develop and refine core risk models using data science techniques to support competitive pricing and profitability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse data, assess risk, and provide quantitative insights for business decisions.
* Engage with the deployment team to support the release of pricing changes.
* Support more senior colleagues on projects and grow your expertise.
You’ll report to a Band 5 Pricing Practitioner and work with a team that values new approaches and collaboration. Our hybrid model offers a mix of office and remote work with at least 2 days in the office when in the role.
Your Skills and Experience
* Experience using SQL and Python
* Demonstrable interest or experience in using data science techniques to analyse large datasets
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to consider multiple scenarios and customer impact
* Good communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
* A numerate degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related subjects
