Sport Welfare Project Officer
Contract: Fixed term until March 2027
Hours: 30-37.5 hours per week (flexible working options available)
Location: Home-based with national travel

Active Partnerships is seeking a Sport Welfare Project Officer to support a national safeguarding and culture change initiative across sport. This is a fixed-term role focused on practical support, insight, and collaboration.
About the role:
This position supports a major national program to enhance safeguarding and welfare in grassroots sport. You will coordinate with 63 Sport Welfare Officers nationwide, providing tools, support, and fostering relationships to enable their success.
Your responsibilities include gathering insights, supporting operations, developing inclusive resources, and serving as a reliable contact point to foster cultural change in sport.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the central team to deliver the Sport Welfare Officer Programme effectively.
* Build positive relationships with stakeholders, including Sport England, CPSU, and ACT.
* Analyze evaluation submissions to extract insights for future activities.
* Prepare internal reports to inform programme improvements.
* Coordinate project activities, including meetings and events.
* Assist with large-scale events in collaboration with the communications team.
* Support the development of national tools, templates, and guidance to improve safeguarding practices.
* Ensure content and communications are inclusive and accessible.
* Maintain good administrative practices to keep tasks and timelines on track.
* Travel approximately once or twice a month for regional and national events.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and communicate sensitively.
* Strong organizational skills for remote work management.
* Openness to collaboration with diverse groups.
* Clear written communication tailored to different audiences.
* Ability to identify themes in feedback to inform decision-making.
* Basic understanding of safeguarding, welfare, and inclusion principles.
* Proficiency with digital tools (email, video conferencing, shared documents).
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
* Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Work Environment and Support:
* Primarily home-based with regular online meetings.
* Travel approximately 1-2 times per month, with occasional overnight stays (3-4 times per year).
* Flexible working arrangements considered.
