The Role:
As a Supply Teacher, you will:
* Deliver engaging lessons following school planning and curriculum expectations
* Adapt teaching approaches to support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND
* Foster a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment
* Uphold school policies on safeguarding, behaviour and learning
* Communicate effectively with staff teams to ensure smooth day‑to‑day cover
* Make a positive impact on pupils’ learning, even during short‑term placements
Requirements:
To be considered for supply roles in Durham, you should:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching in KS1 and/or KS2
* Demonstrate strong classroom management and flexibility
* Be confident stepping into a variety of school settings
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ideally have access to your own vehicle to reach a wider range of schools
o Public transport is perfectly acceptable — access to fewer schools won’t affect your suitability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
