Do you have a strong background in bakery and viennoiserie production, but want more responsibility, more influence, and a genuine opportunity to grow with a business?
I'm recruiting for an exciting and ambitious bakery business that has just opened its 5th site and has clear plans to reach 10 locations and beyond. As part of that growth, they're looking for a Production Manager who can lead from the front, develop the team, and help drive the next phase of the business.
The Role
You'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production operation, ensuring products are delivered to the highest standards while maintaining efficiency, quality and consistency.
Key responsibilities include:
✔ Managing and developing a team of bakers and pastry professionals
✔ Overseeing the production of cakes, pastries and viennoiserie products
✔ Driving quality, food safety and production standards
✔ Supporting productivity improvements and operational efficiencies
✔ Working closely with the leadership team on New Product Development (NPD)
✔ Training, coaching and developing team members
✔ Ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining exceptional product quality
✔ Playing a key role in the future growth of the business
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
* Strong hands-on bakery and viennoiserie experience
* Previous experience leading or supervising production teams
* A genuine interest in NPD, product innovation and continuous improvement
* A desire to progress into a more senior leadership role as the business grows
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach
* Passion for quality products and developing people
This role would suit an ambitious Senior Baker, Head Baker, Bakery Supervisor, Production Supervisor or Assistant Production Manager looking for the opportunity to make a real impact and build a long-term career.
The operation runs 7 days a week, with peak trade across Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. However, the business promotes fair rotas and team support, providing opportunities for weekend time off on rotation.
Most importantly, this is a business that wants someone to grow with them. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop into a Head of Production / Head of CPU position as the company continues its expansion.
