Job Description:
Mind Partners is an executive search firm with offices in London, Paris and New York. We specialise in retained headhunting for executives, senior management, and experts. We are now partnering with Fondation de France to appoint their Executive Director for the UK.
Fondation de France UK is a newly established British organisation seeking an Executive Director (ED) to join the London-based organisation. This role offers the opportunity to support a dynamic Board of Directors, aiding in the achievement of their goals. The successful candidate will have the chance to liaise and coordinate directly with the Fondation de France international team based in Paris.
Focusing on launching the new structure’s activities as a first step, the ED has a broad range of leadership and oversight responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Leadership and growth of the organisation
* Lead the development of the growth strategy – especially by increasing the number of grantees, the amount and the number of donations.
* Implement the strategic decisions and follow-up actions decided by the Board.
Grant administration and charity advisory
* Handle the processing of donations made to the grantees.
* Provide ad-hoc advice for potential charity partners and be a trusted intermediary.
Communication and public relations
* Serve as an external face for the Foundation’s stakeholders, the media, and the public, and manage the promotion of the organisation.
* Initiate and foster partnerships with the philanthropy sector (grant-making foundations, and other affinity organisations).
* Organise Charity events, such as an annual Gala.
Donor relations and stewardship
* Manage and cultivate strategic relationships with key donors.
* Be identified as the reference on funding for French and Franco-British charity projects.
Required education/skills/experience/training
* Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
* Previous experience in a leadership role. 5+ years of experience preferred.
* An appropriate advanced degree is desirable.
* Fluency in both English and French.
* Willingness to travel in the UK and to France (up to 25% of the time).
* Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship development.
