The Role
As an Engineer at MacTaggart Scott, you will have the opportunity to be the technical lead on design projects for mission-critical equipment for the Naval Defence industry. You will manage activities to ensure that design solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and meet customer expectations. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Principal Engineer and be minimally supervised.

Duties will include:
* Leading the project design team, managing technical compliance, budget, and schedule, and communicating with customers.
* Providing innovative design solutions, including supporting calculations and analysis.
* Ensuring thorough project awareness from initial requirements to final customer acceptance.
* Establishing and optimizing product costs throughout the design process.
* Providing technical input to bids and inquiries.
* Solving problems during equipment build and testing.
* Supporting in-service issues.
* Identifying risks to schedule or cost and planning mitigation strategies.
* Driving risk management across design projects.
* Implementing Lessons Learned actively within project schedules.
Requirements
Essential skills, experience, and knowledge:
* Experience with solid modeling design tools and structural analysis using finite element modeling.
* Problem-solving skills and an innovative, flexible approach.
* Experience creating and checking high-quality production drawings.
* Intermediate or higher MS Office skills.
