ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Credit Controller within our UK Credit Control team with some support in the EU Credit Control Team when required. We are looking for someone with patience, motivation, persuasion and an eye for detail who enjoys seeing a task through to completion to support the Credit Control Supervisor managing the UK sales ledger.
* Responsible for own set of Sales Ledger accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while supporting other members of the Credit Control team if/when required.
* Collection of debtors by telephone and written communication, handling of customer queries, liaising with internal departments and customers.
* Negotiating settlement of overdue monies, and agreeing release of held orders.
* Liaising with sales teams in providing commercially acceptable solutions when granting credit to our customers.
* Deciding and controlling suitable credit limits and responsible for first point escalation from Credit Controllers and Sales Teams.
* Regular credit risk assessment and opening of new credit accounts.
* Mitigate the Company's credit risk and take necessary escalation action as appropriate.
* Pro-active analysis and reduction of all overdue debt.
* Creation, allocation and maintenance of ledgers for the UK team.
* Completion of end of month reporting in the absence of Credit Control Supervisor /Manager.
* Assisting in bank reporting and cash allocation when required.
* Assist with process improvements and documentation.
* Ensuring consistent achievement of the monthly Credit Control KPI's
* Take charge of your personal development and contribute to the evaluation of performance in line with Routeco's core competencies and learning and development framework.
* Ad Hoc Tasks given by Credit Supervisor or Credit Manager.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO ROUTECO?
Essential:
* At least 5 years of Credit Control experience.
* Experience of recovering payments in a B2B environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills - including cross functional collaboration.
* Excellent ability to retain new information and grasp new concepts quickly.
* Ability to manage/complete multiple tasks to high standard within set deadlines.
* Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently and part of a team.
* Skilled in identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
* A thorough disciplined and detailed style is vital with the ability to review logical and detailed data.
* Experience in reviewing credit reports i.e Experian/Credit Safe.
* Experience in compliance with clearly defined processes is required.
* Ability to confidently provide constructive feedback to colleagues and senior members of the business.
* Team management skills, with the ability to motivate.
* Being well organised and dependable will be important factors in being successful in this role.
Preferable:
* Experience with process improvements and process documentation.
* Experience working with customer portals (i.e, Ariba, Tungsten, Coupa).
* Previous people management experience, or willingness to assist Credit Supervisor with people management responsibilities.
* CICM qualified or working towards CICM qualification.
