Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and friendly individual to join our reception team, at our veterinary hospital in Chippenham.
We are a thriving practice with an excellent reputation in our local community and pride ourselves on our customer care. This role is fast paced within a great team, where no working day is ever the same. This is a client facing role, excellent communication skills, and a professional approach is essential.
Duties
* Greeting clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere
* Managing appointment scheduling.
* Answering phone calls, responding to enquiries, and directing calls appropriately
* Handling client check-in and check-out procedures efficiently
* Maintaining accurate patient records and updating medical histories
* Processing payments and managing billing procedures
* Organising the reception area to ensure it remains tidy and professional at all times
Skills
* Previous customer facing or reception experience is essential.
* Previous veterinary experience is highly desirable, providing familiarity with clinic procedures and terminology, however training will be provided.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly demeanour
* Proficiency in using computer systems for scheduling, record keeping, and billing purposes
* Ability to remain calm under pressure whilst delivering outstanding customer service
* A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is essential for success in this role
Working hours will vary, but will include:
Wednesday mornings, Thursday and Friday afternoons and being part of the of the Saturday morning weekend rota. (Saturday on a 2:4 rotation 8.15am -12.15pm).
Average weekly hours: 15.5 Hours

Pay: £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 13 – 18 per week

* Customer service: 1 year (required)
* Veterinary reception: 1 year (preferred)
