Bloxham School is seeking a committed and innovative Teacher of Science to join our dynamic department and support students in achieving their full potential. This role involves delivering engaging and challenging lessons for students aged 11 to 16, creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, tailored to student needs and prior attainment
* Inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for Science through creative teaching and practical experiments
* Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement interventions where necessary
* Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment
* Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, trips, and broader curricular programmes
* Engage in professional development and share best practice with colleagues
The Ideal Candidate
* Hold a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related subject
* Have proven experience of teaching Physics to Year 9, Biology to Year 10, and Chemistry to Year 11
* Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and awareness of current teaching practices
* Be an excellent communicator with the ability to motivate students of all abilities
* Be committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice

Working Arrangements
* Part Time, Monday and Tuesday
* Term Time Only
* Fixed Term to cover maternity leave (expected to be January 2026 for 12 Months)
* School day starts 8:30 am and ends 6:00 pm; academic lessons end at 3:30 pm with broader curricular activities, drop-ins and pastoral meetings
* The successful post holder may cover the Animal Club on Mondays 4:00–5:00 pm
* All teachers act as tutors; Tutor meetings on Mondays 5:00–6:00 pm and time with tutees on Tuesday mornings

* Salary: Bloxham salary scale, dependent on experience
