Salary – Circa £31,500 depending on experience.


About the role

As a company that aims to transform the talent marketplace whilst connecting people to work, corporate responsibility lies at the core of everything we do at Matrix. The Social Value Officer will join a team of people responsible for delivering Social Value outcomes to our local authority clients across the UK. Our Social Value work allows us to build closer relationships with our customers as we spend time in their communities, supporting their residents on their journey to work.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9:00-17:30

Location: Hybrid/ Milton Keynes, but regular travel around the UK is required (from London to Leeds!)

Reporting to: Head of Corporate Social Responsibility


How will you do it? Well, you’ll:

·Manage the delivery and monitor the impact of Social Value initiatives. The Social Value team have big targets to engage more people than ever before this year. Your role is central in identifying opportunities and maximising Social Value delivered. More people engaged, more hours offered, and more volunteers involved!

·Create and deliver employability skills workshops to different groups across our client’s communities, as well as provide 1:1 employability support to individuals.

·Build relationships with customers, suppliers, charities and social enterprises. We need to partner with other organisations to deliver maximum value to customers communities. You’ll identify potential partners and find ways for us to work together to connect local people to work.

·Visit schools, colleges and council led careers events/job fairs. Support careers leads in organising events for students.

·Support our Talent Pool team by sharing opportunities to engage local workers.

·Analyse data and report on social value activities. We track the number of people engaged through our activities, hours of Social Value delivered and feedback from partners and candidates. This data will help guide your decisions on which activities we keep planning to maximise delivery and impact.

·Report back to key stakeholders, including customers and the wider strategy team. Attend QBRs to learn from customers what their Social Value priorities are and how best we can support their communities.

·Support with Matrix’s wider ESG ambitions by facilitating employee volunteering and charity events.

·Be a key member of a small team, supporting the Social Value Officer and acting as a deputy for the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility.


About You

You will have a genuine desire to support people on their journey to work and a commitment to ethical conduct, integrity and social justice. You’ll be happy to travel across the UK to spend time in our client’s communities (travel costs reimbursed by business).

Skills & Experience:

Essential

·Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting both online and face-to-face.

·Exceptional people skills and ability to build strong relationships

·Strong ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.

·Organised and self-motivated with a high level of initiative, comfortable working independently.

·Experience using MS Office.

·Happy to regularly travel across the UK to spend time on site, in our clients’ communities.
