Job Overview
In this role you will serve as an Employee Relations Manager at Lidl, leading a newly created Employee Relations team and supporting the hearing of colleague grievances on a national level. You will work closely with the Employee Relations Team Manager to ensure the function meets and aligns with the strategic objectives of the company. Lidl offers a hybrid working model: spend three days in our state‑of‑the‑art office, with on‑site gym, restaurant, and other perks, and up to two days working from home for a balanced work‑life integration.
Responsibilities
* Oversee a team of case managers and case support.
* Conduct grievance, employee relations hearings and appeals as appropriate.
* Lead disciplinary processes when required.
* Create and deliver coaching on case learnings.
* Make process improvement recommendations.
* Interpret and analyse trends to influence progress and performance, identifying key trends, patterns and areas of focus.
* Ensure compliance and logging of all cases through the Case Management Tool.
* Develop and implement local measures in conjunction with the Employee Relations Team Manager to limit legal and internal non‑compliance risk, identifying risks, scenarios and mitigation options.
* Ensure grievances are heard in line with policy, best practice, and are managed in a fair and consistent manner.
Qualifications
* Experience leading a team.
* Solid Employee Relations experience, advising middle management and up‑to‑date labour law knowledge.
* Experience leading grievance investigations and delivering outcomes.
* Highly developed skill in handling complex, sensitive and confidential matters.
* Full understanding of ACAS codes.
* Strong influencing skills and the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
* Excellent stakeholder management and people skills.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication.
* Manager – Employee Relations – level of seniority.
* Proficiency in Google Workspace and HR software.
* Experience within a retail or hospitality environment is advantageous.
* Legal qualification or CIPD Level 7 (with specialist or advanced EL optional units) is desirable.
* Employment is conditional upon receipt of satisfactory references and, if requested, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.

* Competitive salary: £55,000 to £77,000, depending on experience.
