A lovely primary school in Haringey is seeking a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support three children across the school on a 1:1 basis.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support three pupils with identified Special Educational Needs. Your support will be based in the EYFS department in the morning and Year 5 in the afternoon.
In EYFS, you will support two children with speech, language, and communication needs. One is visually impaired and has a medical condition requiring daily medication, which you will administer with training and guidance. The other has SEMH needs and may present dysregulation and behavioral challenges, requiring support to regulate emotions and interact with peers.
In the afternoon, you will support a Year 5 child with autism and speech and language needs, a young mental age, and possible defiance, who has experienced trauma and needs emotional regulation support.
The school seeks an SEN Teaching Assistant with:
* Experience supporting children with SEN
* De-escalation skills
* Calm and clear communication, including speech and language support
* Behavior management and boundary setting
This is a full-time, ongoing contract starting ASAP until July 2025.
