This role will involve leading the hardware support activities required to ensure the continuing effectiveness of the Captor M Radar support solutions provided to UK and international customers. We are looking for someone who will provide the interface between different Leonardo teams, international partners, with forward based servicing centres and the Edinburgh based product line and repair facilities. The role shall provide a focal point for all hardware aspects related to the ongoing support of the Captor M product. The role will require a high degree of technical competency, excellent organisational / communication skills and the appropriate characteristics to be a fully functioning part of the equipment certification team. The role will require a candidate suitable of holding a Delegated Authority including the responsibilities associated with that level of delegation. What you'll do as a Lead Systems Engineer: To review and approve customer Technical Query responses, Problem Investigation and Defect Investigation reports raised by EuroRadar. Participate within EuroRadar partner Defect Investigations when required. Review processes and procedures associated with support and customer repairs. Engage with EuroRadar partners on any change requests as a result of obsolescence. Liaise between EuroRadar partners and product line. Be a focal point for repair activities progressing through TDCs and the Edinburgh production facility. Draft DDP changes on behalf of the equipment Design Authority as a result of obsolescence changes. Attend weekly meeting with engineering delivery team to review tasking. Assist in the creation of EAPFs to sustain M-Scan product. Participate in Obsolescence Review Boards. Conduct product incident reporting and management in accordance with company process. Mentor others in the team technically. We would like to hear from you if you have a combination of the following: Strong system engineering experience with significant avionics hardware development and support. Appreciation of how a system fits within the broader capability enterprise, for example as a component of a system-of-systems solution and wider dependencies such as personnel and infrastructure. Experience of working in a technical customer support role within a military regulated environment. Experience in providing release of installations/upgrades in relation to military airworthiness. Some experience in certification and release of military air equipment. Substantial analytical and technical problem solving skills Self-motivated leader and team player capable of working with minimum direction. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven ability to build trust and respect at different levels with international partners. Experience in gaining design certification and customer acceptance. Typically meets the requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer with the ECUK Knowledge of general engineering lifecycle and business process Coordinate multi-stakeholder analysis into reports and presentations for delivery to customers & industry partners.
