Job Description:

This role involves leading a team of developers in the GM Motorsports Software team, focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining aero-thermal applications, including CFD models, visualization, and analysis tools. The position requires providing technical leadership, developing solution architectures, and contributing to scalable cloud-based systems. The role is highly visible and involves collaboration across teams to deliver innovative motorsports IT solutions that enhance racing performance and transfer learnings to production vehicles.


Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team to implement GM Motorsports aero-thermal applications, including CFD modeling and visualization.
2. Design and lead solution architectures, gaining team consensus.
3. Focus on modern application design, modular frameworks, and loosely connected systems.
4. Identify value gaps within the aerodynamics team and develop solutions.
5. Resolve technical blockers and ensure smooth delivery milestones.
6. Manage scrum story delivery and contribute to build frameworks, testing, and deployment.
7. Collaborate with team members and support project goals.
8. Deliver reliable, self-managed contributions within the project scope.


Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
* Expertise in CFD systems, microservices, or data streaming platforms.
* Experience with full-stack application development and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* 5+ years in microservices development; 2+ years in web services design.
* Proficiency with containerization tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
* Knowledge of software development best practices, DevOps, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.


People Skills:

* Critical thinking, problem-solving, and autonomous work style.
* Strong technical decision-making and understanding of distributed applications.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

* Master’s degree in a technical discipline.
* Exposure to aerodynamics engineering and AI/ML.
* Experience with VR frameworks, data streaming tech, cross-platform development, UI/UX design, and system architecture.
* Leadership experience and knowledge of data serialization and cloud resources.
