As an Assistant Chef, you will be responsible for cooking and serving nutritious, healthy meals that our Residents will love. You’ll support our First Chef, taking charge in their absence. Whether managing food stock, optimizing budgets, coaching colleagues, or supervising kitchen clean-up, your focus will always be on Resident wellbeing.
HC-One is looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Beyond qualifications, we value your positive energy, ability to get along with people, organization skills, and attention to detail in following recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are essential.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional relevant training. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns, escalating issues when necessary.
