Description Outwood Post 16 Centre and Outwood Academy Valley are seeking to recruit additional exam invigilators for the forthcoming exam period in 2025. The main exams period is May to June, with mock examinations in November and March, although you may be called upon to assist at other times of the year for additional examination sessions and training. We are looking to recruit as soon as possible to our existing invigilator team. This role is essential to the smooth running of the examination process. In addition to ensuring correct exam procedures are followed, the successful applicants will be responsible for the setting out and collection of exam papers and materials, admitting students to the exam hall/room, invigilating during the exams and collating the exam papers to be sent off to the exam boards. Invigilators may also be called upon to scribe for individual students, eg reading exam questions and writing exam answers on behalf of students. Full training will be given to successful applicants. These appointments are offered on a casual basis and, if appointed, you will join a bank of exam invigilators and you will be able to choose the number of hours you wish to work. Applications are welcome from individuals with a good standard of education, who are seeking a work pattern to complement existing commitments or retired/semi-retired professionals. We are proud that Outwood Academy Valley is rated Good by Ofsted and we are delighted to be based in the large friendly town of Worksop, near Sheffield and Nottingham. We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning. The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2012 and as a member of the Outwood Family we believe in putting Students First, raising standards and transforming lives. Outwood Grange Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are made in accordance with safer recruitment practices and the statutory guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education. Online checks will be carried out on all shortlisted candidates, and all appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and checks regarding suitability to work with children. We reserve the right to close applications early, therefore the application will close at 12pm on the closing date or sooner should a decision be reached.
