Software AG (webMethods) API Gateway Specialist
Part‑time | 12‑Month Contract | Mostly Remote (UK) | SC Clearance Required
We are seeking an experienced Software AG (webMethods) API Gateway Specialist to join a secure, Defence‑aligned programme. This role will support the design, implementation and ongoing management of API Gateway and webMethods solutions within a highly regulated environment.
The position is offered on a part‑time, 12‑month contract basis, with predominantly remote working and occasional on‑site attendance as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement and maintain Software AG API Gateway solutions supporting cloud implementations
* Install, configure and support webMethods products across multiple environments
* Create and maintain logical and deployment architecture views within Software AG
* Design and develop APIs in line with agreed transaction methods and coding standards
* Enable secure API connectivity between networks with differing data security classifications
* Configure and manage ORDS endpoints and API Gateway proxying
* Implement and support Terracotta database caching solutions
* Support API Gateway connectivity to databases
* Integrate SOC/SIEM tooling with webMethods platforms
* Contribute to Defence accreditation, compliance and assurance processes
* Expert‑level experience with Software AG API Gateway
* Extensive experience using API Gateways to support cloud‑based integrations
* Strong expertise in installation, configuration and maintenance of webMethods products
* Proven experience in API design, transaction handling and governance standards
* Experience supporting secure integrations across multiple network classifications
* Hands‑on experience with:
* Database connectivity via API Gateways
* SOC/SIEM integration
* Experience working within Defence or similarly regulated environments
