Band 4 Therapy Technical Instructor

Are you an experienced therapy assistant with an interest in inpatient rehabilitation? Consider joining our friendly and forward-thinking team, where you will be supported by experienced physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to develop and enhance a range of generic rehabilitation skills and competencies to assist with the treatment of our adult inpatients.

This post is for Capetown & Canterbury wards on the Chase Farm Hospital site, with potential for rotation to our sister unit – Magnolia, on the St Michael’s site.

Capetown ward provides inpatient rehabilitation and short-term health step-down for adults and older people with various clinical conditions, including post-orthopaedic surgery, decreased mobility after falls, exacerbation of long-term conditions, recovery from acute medical issues, and deconditioning following extended hospital stays. Many patients have multiple pathologies and complex needs requiring comprehensive assessment and close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to support recovery and discharge planning.

Our therapy services are supported by a senior therapy clinician and an Integrated Therapy Lead. This is an exciting time to join us as we integrate rehabilitation services across our wards to develop a streamlined patient pathway, including a 7-day service.

The post holder will be an integral member of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Team & MDT, providing short-term inpatient nursing and therapy services aimed at rehabilitation, reablement, and recovery to promote independence and community reintegration. Responsibilities include conducting therapy assessments and interventions within their role's scope under supervision, supporting rehabilitation and recovery programs, and visiting patients at home for prescribed treatments and equipment assessments.

The post holder will work independently with access to qualified therapy team support and may be required to work across various sites, including community settings, as part of a 7-day therapy service directed by the Integrated Therapies Lead.

North Mid is part of the North Central London integrated care system, working closely with NHS and local authorities in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey. We prioritize staff training to ensure excellent clinical care and are a training hub for medical students from UCL and St George’s University Grenada, as well as nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
