A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Building Physics Consultant to join its Bristol office. The Role
The successful candidate will lead on building performance modelling and simulation across a variety of projects. They will work closely with architects, engineers, and sustainability professionals to deliver data-driven insights that inform design decisions and enhance environmental performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and delivering dynamic thermal modelling, overheating analysis, and daylight assessments
Supporting early-stage design through passive design strategies and energy efficiency measures
Advising on compliance with Part L, TM52, TM59, and other relevant standards
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate building physics into wider project delivery
Mentoring junior team members and contributing to the development of best practices and tools
Supporting net zero, whole-life carbon and decarbonisation strategies as part of wider consultancy offeringCandidate Requirements
A degree in Building Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Design, or a related field
Proven experience in building performance modelling using tools such as IES-VE, Design Builder or similar
Strong understanding of UK building regulations, energy standards, and sustainability frameworks
Experience working in a consultancy environment on a range of building typologies
Excellent communication and project management skills
Passion for sustainable design and performance-led consultancy
Experience in mentoring or technical leadership is desirableBenefits:
