Part-time Receptionist / HR Assistant

We are seeking to appoint a Receptionist / HR Assistant to join our friendly and professional administration team. This is a key role within the school, providing high-quality reception, HR and administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
1. Provide a welcoming and professional reception service, acting as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and contractors.
2. Support HR administration, including staff onboarding, record keeping and general HR enquiries.
3. Assist with a wide range of administrative tasks to support the wider school team.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy school environment.
Key Information
4. Hours: 2 days per week (Wednesdays + 1 other day to be agreed),
08:00 - 16:00 (time is non negotiable. Term Time Only + 1 week
5. Contract: Permanent
6. Salary: Kent Scheme B
7. Reporting to: HR Lead
Key Responsibilities
8. Support the onboarding and induction of new staff
9. Maintain accurate electronic HR and staff records
10. Assist with absence management and training records
11. Provide an efficient and friendly reception service
12. Manage incoming calls, emails, post and ParentMail messages
13. Undertake general administrative duties including data entry, filing and record keeping
14. Support pupil administration tasks such as attendance calls and registers
15. Assist with arrangements for educational visits and other school activities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
16. GCSE English and Maths (grade C or above, or equivalent)
17. Experience in an administrative role within a busy office environment
18. HR administration experience (school experience desirable)
19. Strong communication and organisational skills
20. A professional, flexible and positive approach
21. The ability to work confidentially with sensitive information
