Job Description: Private Client Solicitor - Cobham
Location: Cobham, Surrey
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time
A well-established and respected law firm with a strong presence across Surrey is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its busy team in Cobham.
The firm's Private Client Department offers expert legal advice across wills, probate, estate planning, and trusts. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced fee-earner with trusts experience to manage a high-quality caseload and contribute to the department's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clear, practical advice to clients on wills, probate, trusts, powers of attorney, and wider estate planning matters
Manage a caseload with professionalism and efficiency, maintaining accurate records of all casework
Prepare legal documentation including wills, trust deeds, and lasting powers of attorney, ensuring precision and legal compliance
Assist with inheritance tax planning and the creation and management of trusts
Support the administration of estates, including applying for probate, liaising with HMRC, and distributing assets
Deliver high standards of client care, offering empathetic and clear guidance, particularly during sensitive or difficult times
Comply with all SRA regulations, AML requirements, and internal procedures
Stay updated on relevant legal developments through ongoing professional development
Requirements
Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, ideally with 5+ years' PQE in private client law
Solid experience in trusts, estate administration, tax, and related areas
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal information clearly and compassionately
Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
Familiarity with case management systems and standard office software
High ethical standards and a strong sense of professional responsibility
