The Children’s Community and Specialist Nursing Team covers a wide range of services, including Children’s Community Nursing Team, Children’s Complex Needs Service, Children’s Respiratory, Epilepsy & Neuromuscular Service, and Children’s Palliative Care Service. Responsibilities
* Book appointments.
* Register patients on the computer system.
* Manage databases and filing systems.
* Answer phone queries and handle external and internal telephone enquiries with efficiency, tact and diplomacy.
* Provide administrative support to the Specialist Nurses and other team members.
* Order consumables for patients and support smooth operation of the service.
* Ensure messages and information are quickly relayed to the appropriate person.
* Communicate with a wide range of staff, patients and visitors using verbal, electronic, and other methods, ensuring information is tailored appropriately.
* Use databases and computer systems to create and maintain records, ensuring they are accurate and updated.
* Generate statistics for analytical purposes where needed.
* Collect and sort incoming mail, ensuring it reaches the relevant Specialists or healthcare professionals for action.
* Ensure accurate filing of patient investigations and correspondence, making them available on Evolve.
* Provide secretarial and administrative assistance to the Children's Community and Specialist Nursing Team, ensuring smooth operation and effective service delivery.
Qualifications
* Evidence of qualifications must be provided.
* All overseas qualifications must be proved comparable to UK standards through UK ENIC.
* Prior experience in administrative support within a healthcare setting is desirable.
