About this Role

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

We are seeking a dedicated, organised and passionate Finance Assistant to join our brilliant team.

As Finance Assistant you would play a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the academy by providing high-quality administrative support across both finance and human resources functions. Your key responsibilities will ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, support accurate financial processing, and contribute to the effective management of the employee lifecycle. The full detail of the role can be found in the attached job description.

The role is being offered working 37 hours per week, 41 weeks per year (school term time plus 3 weeks).

At Ormiston Denes Academy, we believe education extends beyond the confines of classrooms and textbooks. Our academy is a vibrant, dedicated community where every day is an opportunity for growth, and every individual is encouraged to become the best version of themselves. We understand that potential is limitless, and with the right support and guidance, challenges can be transformed into achievements.

This is the perfect time to become a part of Team Denes. Our Academy has been tenaciously driving improvements for our students and our staff, and this was recognised in March 2025 when Ofsted rated us as "good" in all categories and commented that "staff are highly positive about working here".

Why work for Ormiston Academies Trust?

Our vision is for a school system where every child thrives, regardless of background. Our people are at the heart of our approach – they are our greatest asset.

We exist to provide the best learning opportunities every day, in every school for every child. It is the people and teams in our Trust who make this a reality and ensure we have the greatest impact. If you join us at Ormiston, whatever your role, you can be sure of a role with purpose and meaning.

Ormiston, where every member of staff enjoys…

* The opportunity to build on the legacy of those who came before – being part of one of the longest standing Trusts, created with the sole purpose of enabling children and young people to thrive
* Working for a Trust nationally recognised for its impact on disadvantaged children – a rewarding, stimulating career where staff are challenged to be the best they can be, for the pupils we are proud to serve
* Being part of a team and community where you belong – receiving bespoke and holistic support from a well-resourced and ambitious network of experts and professionals that work at the heart of communities
* A supportive environment to grow your career – an extensive professional development programme, alongside flexible working arrangements and generous benefits

In order to succeed in this role you will have;

* GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (C and above)
* AAT Level 2 or 3 is preferred but not essential, the opportunity to study may be available to the correct candidate
* Excellent communication skills, written, in person and over the telephone.
* Excellent ICT and keyboard skills.
* Self motivation and organisation skills and be able to work both on your own initiative and as part of a wider team

At Ormiston Denes Academy we place high value on staff development and with us, you would receive a comprehensive induction and training package, along with:

* Development for staff through nationally recognised training courses.
* Access to a range of resources and opportunities through our Academy Trust.
* Guidance, advice, and support from the senior leadership team who all want to make a positive difference to the education of all students at Ormiston Denes Academy.

If, like us, you are committed to making the biggest difference to children and want to be part of a community that lives its core values of aspiration, integrity and respect, the Ormiston Denes Academy could be the perfect place for you.

We welcome visits to our Academy from prospective applicants. To arrange a visit or an informal discussion with Charlotte Leeming - HR & Compliance Partner, please email or call
