I’m working with a public sector organisation seeking an experienced Senior Disrepair Surveyor to support their housing and property services team. This role will focus on managing disrepair claims, carrying out detailed inspections, and producing high‑quality technical documentation and expert reports. This position suits someone with extensive experience in housing surveying and disrepair casework who is confident operating in a fast‑paced environment with complex regulatory requirements. Role Responsibilities * Lead on all disrepair cases from initial inspection through to completion. * Carry out thorough pre‑ and post‑inspections, diagnosing complex defects including damp, mould, structural issues and building failures. * Prepare clear technical specifications, expert reports and evidence for potential legal proceedings. * Work collaboratively with legal teams, case officers, residents and contractors. * Advise on cost‑effective solutions and ensure works meet required standards. * Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. * Support, guide and monitor junior surveyors within the team where required. Requirements * Strong background in residential surveying within social housing, local authority or related sectors. * Proven experience managing disrepair claims and producing detailed expert reports. * Solid understanding of Awaab’s Law, HHSRS, CDM Regulations, Environmental Protection Act requirements and other relevant health and safety legislation. * Ability to write clear, accurate technical specifications and legal‑standard documentation. * Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. * MRICS qualified is essential. * Ability to carry out full inspections, including working at height or within confined spaces where needed.
