SEN Learning Support Assistant – Special School (Sheffield)
At PK Education, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, no matter their starting point. We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming special school in the Sheffield area on a full‑time, long‑term basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, supporting pupils on a one‑to‑one basis who have a range of medical needs and learning difficulties. You'll play a key role in helping each learner feel safe, understood, and empowered to achieve their potential.
We're looking for someone who is proactive, hands‑on, and fully committed to providing high‑quality support. Building strong, trusting relationships and bringing a calm, nurturing presence into the classroom will be at the heart of your role.
Your role will include:
* Providing tailored one‑to‑one support for pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including complex and medical needs
* Supporting learning through engaging, child‑centred approaches
* Assisting with interventions and therapy‑based activities planned by the school
* Encouraging participation in topic‑based learning and classroom activities
* Creating a consistent, supportive environment where pupils can feel confident and secure
We're looking for someone who:
* Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Has experience supporting children with SEN on a one‑to‑one basis
* Takes initiative and is actively involved throughout the school day
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuinely nurturing approach
* Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Is professional, reliable, and committed to making a positive impact
