Electrical Controls Engineer
Rochdale, Greater Manchester | Full Time | £35,000–£45,000 per annum (DOE)

Are you the right person for the job?
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of IET wiring regulations (BS 7671)
Proficient in reading and creating electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical
Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI programming in TIA Portal
Experience implementing and troubleshooting industrial networks (Modbus/Profinet/Ethernet-IP)
Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR regulations – preferred
Understanding of functional safety standards (IEC 61508/61511) – preferred
What will your role look like?
Lead complex electrical engineering projects, including FAT and SAT activities
Generate technical documentation, including control philosophies, FDS, and C&E documents
Produce detailed cable schedules and block cable diagrams
Collaborate with mechanical teams to design cable routing and associated containment
Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs
Support installation and commissioning activities on site
Produce detailed costings and labour estimates to assist the sales team
Provide technical support to engineers and customers
