Overview
Specialty Doctor - Youth Psychiatry Community role at NSFT Jobs. Based in Ipswich and Central East Suffolk YAMHS; maternity cover commencing from September. This post is based in the community, with no inpatient responsibilities. The service covers the east area of the county of Suffolk, which has social deprivation and psychosocial difficulties. Suffolk has a population of approximately 650,000.
Responsibilities
* Assess new referrals and maintain a treatment caseload of young people aged 18 to 25 years with complex mental health difficulties.
* Monitor use of medication and other treatments as appropriate.
* Attend weekly team meetings and reviews; provide appropriate clinical support and supervision to non-medical staff within the team.
* Carry own caseload of an acceptable number of cases. Work within the allocated time in the job plan.
Qualifications
* Speciality doctor of SAS grade with a few years of experience working with the 18+ age group.
