We are seeking a Personal Adviser to join our specialist UASC Team, working with young people aged 16–25 who are seeking asylum and have arrived in the UK without a parent or guardian.
About the Role:
As a Personal Adviser, you will provide tailored support to young people as they transition to independence, helping them navigate complex systems and build safe, fulfilling lives.
You will:
* Develop and review Pathway Plans in collaboration with young people and professionals within statutory timescales.
* Provide practical and emotional support around housing, education, employment, health, and immigration.
* Advocate for young people’s rights and ensure their voices are heard in decision‑making.
* Work closely with legal representatives, social workers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and culturally sensitive support.
* Promote integration, wellbeing, and access to opportunities in the local community.
* Managing a caseload of care leavers as their key worker.
* Co‑working with Social Workers to contribute to effective care planning for Children in care preparing to leave care.
* Delivering outcome‑focused direct work, individually and in groups, to build young people’s skills and independence.
* Ensuring robust contingency planning to support young people’s stability.
* Collaborating with multi‑agency partners to secure resources and support.
* Preparing reports and attending statutory meetings.
About You:
* Passionate about supporting asylum‑seeking and refugee young people.
* Skilled in building trust and rapport with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
* Knowledgeable about the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000, immigration processes, and safeguarding.
* Resilient, empathetic, and able to manage a complex caseload.
* A strong communicator and collaborator with experience in multi‑agency working.
